Our Journey Together
Unsure about therapy
Starting therapy can be daunting and overwhelming but I promise, I don’t bite. You have nothing to lose by contacting me for a free consultation via the button below, during which time, we can think about how I might be able to support you.
Type of therapy I offer
In my therapeutic work, I use schema therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), but I do so in an integrative way (meaning I use what I feel would be most beneficial to my client on a moment to moment basis).
Frequency of our work together
You can see me for therapy or clinical supervision weekly or fortnightly. Sometimes it can be helpful to meet more or less frequently than this and we can discuss your preference in the context of what might be most helpful for you.
Reviewing our work together
Once we have agreed to begin therapy or supervision, you can have up to 6 sessions with me and then we will review our work together and decide together if it would be beneficial to continue working together. I tend to review how things are going every 6 weeks. There is not a minimum or maximum number of sessions that you must have with me, we can review as we go along.
Ending our work
There is no obligation to stay in therapy or to continue supervision with me and you can end our work at any time. There are a number of reasons that you may choose to end our work:
- You may have met your goals
- You might feel that you no longer need or want therapy/supervision
- Perhaps you want to pursue therapy/supervision with another psychologist
- You may decide to take a break from psychological therapy/ supervision
Whatever the reason, you are entitled to end therapy/ supervision with me whenever you might want to. So please do not hesitate to have a conversation with me about endings if you are considering or have decided to end our work together.
